Hill Wins £45m Contract for Maidstone High-Rise Flats Project

Construction firm Hill Partnerships has won a £45 million contract to build a new high-rise residential development at the former Springfield Library site in Maidstone, Kent. The approved scheme will deliver 103 modern flats across two blocks, including a 10-storey tower, with work due to start in March 2026 and finish by late 2029.

The apartments, a mix of one, two and three-bed units, will be built as part of a wider effort to boost housing supply to central Maidstone, while improving the public realm around the site with new outdoor spaces and basement parking.

The scheme follows an invitation to bid from Maidstone Borough Council late last year and was awarded after Hill Partnerships edged out competing bids. Consultants remain involved to guide the design and construction under the UK's current safety and building standards.
