Pure Data Centres Group and SEGRO have secured planning approval for a £1bn, 72MW hyperscale data centre at Premier Park in Park Royal, west London. The Old Oak and Park Royal Development Corporation's planning committee has backed plans to replace a redundant warehouse with a three-storey, liquid-cooled facility designed by architects Scott Brownrigg.
The 22,365 sq m scheme will house nine data halls alongside office space, plant, storage, and a secure entrance pavilion, supported by its own dedicated substation to power the high-capacity site. Designed around a simply, linear layout, the building has been engineered to maximise IT capacity while still maintaining a strong visual presence for passing rail passengers along its northern boundary.
Sustainability has been built into the scheme from the outset, with the project targeting BREEAM Excellent and A-rated EPC office space, alongside photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting, and the potential for heat recovery systems. Construction is set to start later in 2026, adding to a growing cluster of digital infrastructure projects in Park Royal as the area cements is position as a key west London hub for AI-ready data capacity.
